20 houses.
No lipstick on a pig.
Garner Group Inc started in 2016 because the buyers making promises to sellers were not keeping them, and the houses they flipped came back worse than they went in.
Michael Garner spent years in San Diego County, CA real estate watching the same thing happen to sellers. People calling themselves cash buyers would agree a price, tie the house up, and then not do what they said they would — renegotiating mid-escrow, demanding repairs, or disappearing when they could not offload the contract.
The houses that did get bought came back on the market worse than they should have. Cheap work that photographed well. No permits. Lipstick on a pig. He started Garner Group Inc in 2016 to be the buyer he kept telling sellers he wished existed.
Twenty houses later, the rules have not changed. We buy in our own name with our own money. The number you accept is the number on the settlement statement. And the renovation afterwards is done by licensed and bonded contractors, permitted and to code — the work a homeowner would do to a house they meant to keep.
We do the work a homeowner would do. We don't do lipstick on a pig.
